Solidarity Halifax has been working alongside others in a Climate 2030 working group organized by Stephen Thomas of the Ecology Action Centre. The group has developed a Greenhouse Gas Declaration that will hopefully guide the provincial governments revisiting of the Environmental Goals and Sustainable Prosperity Act. We feel the target outlined in the declaration are realistic enough to be met, but tough enough to force future energy development to be exclusively renewable – because climate change is a real existential threat.

The declaration will be officially launched on Thursday, August 30th at 10 am at Hope Blooms greenhouse in Halifax.
