In response to the National Day of Action called by the Fight for $15 and Fairness Campaign, the Ontario Federation of Labour and LeadNow.ca, we are ralling with communities across Canada in solidarity with workers in Ontario who are fighting to defend their victories of a $15 minimum wage and labour standards reforms.

We are also calling for fairness for workers in Nova Scotia: a $15 minimum wage and for our rights on the job.

Join us at noon on the sidewalk in front of the Halifax Central Library at the corner of Spring Garden Rd. and Queen St.

After years of organizing and building a movement, the Fight for $15 and Fairness campaign in Ontario has won many important new rights for workers. However, some employers, including Tim Hortons franchises, are fighting back. With clawbacks to wages and benefits, the bosses are punishing low-wage workers for their newly-won rights.

This National Day of Action was called to let Ontario’s low-wage workers know that they are not alone, and to let employers know that the whole country is watching. We will also have petitions putting forward our own demand that workers in Nova Scotia need a much higher minimum wage and major updates to provincial Labour Standards.
