All out Oct.2: Fight for 15 & Fairness
October 2, 2018 , 12:00pm-1:30pm
This October 1, while Albertans celebrate being the first province to reach a $15 minimum wage, Nova Scotia becomes the province with the lowest minimum wage in the country. This hasn’t always been the case. Just 4 and 1/2 years ago, Nova Scotia had the 4th highest minimum wage, while Alberta was one of the lowest. In that short time, three provinces (AB, BC, and ON) have made commitments to steadily raise the minimum wage to $15.
Join us on Oct. 2 as we demand a $15 minimum wage and better protections and benefits for all workers. We know that, with enough pressure, we can win more dignified life for Nova Scotia’s working poor while building the economy from the bottom up.
